Exploring the barriers and facilitators of evidence based practice in clinical physiotherapy education: A qualitative study

Morgan West is currently studying on the MSc in Clinical Research at ScHARR. Morgan qualified as a physiotherapist in 2006 and has been working in the NHS since. Following the completion of her undergraduate dissertation she harboured a love of research and the process behind shaping the evidence base used in clinical practice. As a junior physiotherapist Morgan worked on service audits and took part in article review groups. Following this she progressed into a more defined and complex role within service review and audit. Morgan was encouraged to apply for the Masters course by her service lead who saw the advert for the NIHR places on the Clinical Research programme and it seemed the next logical step. Morgan has loved every minute of the course so far and is not in a rush it to come to an end in September! In the future Morgan aspires to a clinical access route place via the NIHR to complete a PhD....Watch this space!
